Pest control and monitoring

Makino Station has a growing network of traplines for trapping mice, rats, mustalids (weasels, stoats, ferrets), hedgehogs, cats, and possums. Larger pests (hares, pigs, goats, deer) are controlled with shooting programs.

Makino's trap network uses the following trap types;

DOC200 and DOC250 traps
Flipping Timmy possum traps
Cage traps
AT220 automatic resetting traps
Steve Allen Cat traps
